About the Author

Amanda Ortiz Pellot is a recent graduate from Iowa State University. She received her master’s degree in Apparel, Merchandising, and Design in May 2024. During her master’s, Amanda worked as a graduate assistant at the Textiles and Clothing Museum after receiving the esteemed Agatha Huepenbecker Burnet Endowed graduate research assistantship. Through her assistantship, she co-curated two fashion exhibitions, where she conducted material culture analysis and archival research. Currently, she is seeking opportunities in the museum field to implement and expand her skills, as well as continue learning about the arts, culture, and humanities. In addition to work, Amanda enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching all things Star Wars, and participating in church events.
