Peter Scheidt is Assistant Professor of Wood + Material Studies in the Department of Art and Visual Culture at Iowa State University. He received a bachelor’s degree in media theory and studio art from Brown University before earning an MFA in furniture design and woodworking at San Diego State University. His creative studio work is concept-driven yet firmly grounded in the craft of furniture and woodworking, and builds sculptures that explore questions of function, non-function, and meaning by manipulating found furniture. Scheidt has twenty years of experience maintaining equipment for and teaching in instructional woodshops, beginning as an undergraduate student studio monitor and working later as a full-time equipment technician and shop supervisor.

Emmanuel Bamidele is a graduate student pursuing an MFA in Graphic Design and an MSc in Human-Computer Interaction at Iowa State University. He has over 6 years of professional experience in design, including work in tech, education, and marketing. Emmanuel currently works with the International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO) at Iowa State University. His work focuses on developing impactful design solutions that enhance user experience and support learning. Bamidele contributed as videographer and graphic designer, shooting and editing the instructional videos and designing the machine graphics.

Carsyn Rains is a recent 2025 Magna Cum Laude graduate in Integrated Studio Arts at Iowa State University with an emphasis in photography and woodworking. She is continuing to gain experience in both mediums while working towards establishing herself in the field. Rains contributed as a photographer on the project.
