Many students had an enjoyable experience playing, singing, or making music in high school. Many students also admired their music teacher and are inspired to become a music major and professional musician.

As a music major or music professional, please keep in mind that enjoying playing and singing is not enough!  It takes more than a love of music. College degree programs have a rigorous and relevant program of study requiring a strong background, skill development, and a lot of discipline and dedication.
