This book started out as a free online continuing education course. 480 participants from 40 countries completed 780 hours of free CE during the 2 years it was offered. Minor revision has allowed it to become a freely available, open-access book for all.

This book was the work of many hands. In the Acknowledgments section of this text is a long list of the individuals who contributed to the online CE course and/or the final Pressbooks version of these materials. The list includes CFSPH experts from our IT and Graphics departments, veterinary staff and program management team. Advisory groups from two USDA grants provided relevant content, reviewed chapters, and provided valuable feedback and practical support.
