Writing Sample/Portfolio
Some programs also require a writing sample, typically an individually authored piece of academic writing completed in a course, a summer research experience, or as an undergraduate independent research project or senior thesis. This should be a strong piece of writing that demonstrates your ability to communicate complex information in a logical, meaningful way. Some arts-focused programs require a portfolio of your work from your undergraduate courses. Again, be sure to consult the graduate program’s website and application for specifics on the content, page length, file format, etc.
