Peer Review Statement
Topics in Aquatic Animal Health was produced through the Iowa State University Digital Press with support from the university’s Open Education lead, Abbey K. Elder. In addition to this production process, the book also underwent professional peer review and received feedback from a copy editor.
The review for this text was provided by various subject matter experts including both educators and practitioners working in the field. The reviews were handled chapter-by-chapter and were structured around considerations related to the text’s usefulness as a teaching and reference resource. Reviewers structured their feedback around a rubric, rating the text on various aspects of its organization and content. The rubric was adapted from the Open Textbook Library’s Review Rubric, with additional areas of interest including “Fundamentals,” which assessed the text as a foundation that can transition learners from a baseline understanding of the content to a full semester course in a future semester. Changes suggested by the reviewers were incorporated by the lead author and contributors.
