This chapter is a basic introduction to the treatments available for aquatic animals and how the drugs, pesticides, and biologics used in aquatic animals are regulated.[1] Direct links to regulatory websites containing the regulations and requirements at the time of writing are provided. This chapter is intended as an introduction, and current regulatory information must be consulted before treatment of food fish is initiated. There is frequent reference to official sources to ensure the treatment is in accordance with current requirements and accurate to the best of the reader’s abilities.
