In the rain-cooled air of late afternoon,
Hummingbird stopped by for a drink
Just in time to hear Robert sing of the old days.
Sensing a trap, he was cross
(As hummingbirds often can be)
And became a violet-throated illusion.
Word got ’round…
During the night,
Coyotes dug up the drainage line.
