Power & Light
(Sun Series #9)
The Poem on Guadalupe Street
Its words deserve to be read aloud
Leave the silent readings to your private
thoughts
And dreams and long, dark books
The engineer always sounds the bell when
the train approaches the station
Across the way, a wolf with marbled eyes
Sits in frozen wait under the cerulean doves
of love
Come bearing sage and recite those special
words that set him free
The doves take wing
The poem moves on
