11.3 Harmonizing a Melody With Triads in Inversion: Aural Training exercises

Step 1) Sing through the following melody.

Step 2) Listen to the following three chord progressions, played at quarter note = 60. The chord progressions contain identical harmonies but use different inversions to create different bass lines. 


Step 3) Notate the baseline for each harmonization and decide which provides the best counterpoint to the melody above (i.e. avoid parallel 5ths/8ves and poor doublings, etc).
