3.2 Major Scales: Sight Singing exercises

Practice each of the following major key, one-measure exercises

Step 1) Identify whether the first note is scale degree 1, 3 or 5, depending on the given key signature.

Step 2) Provide yourself a tonic pitch, sing up and down the scale (i.e. 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-1-7-6-5-4-3-2-1), then find your starting pitch if it is not scale degree 1.

Step 3) Sing the exercise on numbers.

Step 4) Repeat the exercise several times from different starting tonic pitches.
