11.3 Harmonizing a Melody With Triads in Inversion: Sight Singing exercises

Step 1) Sing the following melody, listening for the harmonic rhythm.

Step 2) Decide where the following chords fit under the melody (some may be used

more than once): I  ii  iii  IV  V7  vi

Step 3) Choose inversions of the above chords so as to create a stepwise baseline.

Step 4) Sing the stepwise baseline you created as a partner sings the original melody.
