3.4 Modal Scales: Aural Training exercises

Listen to each of the following modal scale exercises, each begins on scale degree 1

Step 1) Identify modal scale being used for the melody.

Step 2) Provide yourself a tonic pitch, sing straight up and down the modal scale (i.e. 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-1-7-6-5-4-3-2-1).

Step 3) Sing the each exercise back on numbers.

Step 4) Notate each exercise below using straight quarter notes (no time signature), using C as the tonic/starting pitch and adding accidentals as needed.
