5.1 Triads and Inversions: Sight Singing exercises

Step 1) Pick a starting pitch, any pitch

Step 2) Sing a root position major triad up and down from this pitch (i.e. 1-3-5-3-1).

Step 3) Sing a first inversion major triad up and down from this same starting pitch, which is now scale degree 3 (i.e. sing 3-5-1-5-3 from the starting pitch).

Step 4) Sing a second inversion major triad up and down from the same starting pitch, which is now scale degree 5 (i.e. 5-1-3-1-5). 

Step 5) Repeat steps 2 through 4 with a minor triad
