9.1 First Species Counterpoint: Sight Singing exercises

Step 1) Sing the given melody on scale degree numbers

Step 2) Play on the piano a first-species counterpoint above the melody as you sing. You should play exactly one quarter note against every note that you sing. Then, write it down.

Step 3) Play on the piano a different first-species counterpoint below the melody as you sing.
